Hello,

My name is Dr. Kathryn Bohn, MD.

I first moved to Bloomington-Normal as a student at Illinois State University for both my Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees. I loved this community and after medical school and residency, my husband and I moved here to start our practices and our family. I became very involved at the school our daughter attended by being room mother and Girl Scout leader for years. We were very involved with the PTA & band at our daughter’s school and chaperoned many of the band trips. During my 24 years as an Emergency Department Physician, I served on the Eleventh Judicial Circuit Family Violence Council. I continue to be involved with Illinois State University as an Alumni and as a member of the Illinois State University Foundation Board. I have served on the Red Cross Board & continue to volunteer with them for their fundraising efforts.

Interested in the sub-specialty of Phlebology (vein care), Dr. Bohn completed her Fellowship training under the direction of Dr. Stephen Rivard. 


After completing her advanced training, Dr. Bohn opened The VEIN Specialists, in Bloomington/Normal Illinois operated by physicians dedicated exclusively to the state-of the-art treatment of vein disease. The vein practice has given me more time to be involved in our local community. I continue to volunteer & enjoy attending many of the fund raising events in our community. I also love to travel, shop, attend movies & plays and cheer on the Illinois State University Redbirds at their sporting events.
